KimChi Chic Diamond Pallet

Ughhhh, I really wanna like this pallet!

Here are the pros and cons:

Pros-

buttery smooth

PIGMENTED

Shifty colors

Pretty on top of dark shadows

Cons-

Not blendable

Doesn’t pack on a makeup brush

horrible glitter fall out (impossible to wash off)

Chunky glitter gets in lashes

I know KimChi has some good stuff but I was really looking forward to this being like The next best pallet.

I’m going to give it one more try and either throw it away or give it to a friend. I personally don’t like glitter fall out especially if I’m doing a full face .

... Read moreI totally get the struggle with glitter eyeshadows, especially when you invest in a beautiful palette like the KimChi Chic Diamond Palette! When I first got my hands on this gorgeous Diamond Diamant palette, with its stunning nine glitter shades and iridescent colors, I was so excited. But like many of you, I quickly encountered the dreaded glitter fallout. It's truly a mood killer when your sparkly eye look ends up all over your cheeks! But don't despair! Over my years of experimenting with makeup, I've picked up a few tricks that might help you get the most out of those chunky, shifty glitters in this KimChi Chic palette, or any other glitter eyeshadow for that matter. First, glitter primer is your best friend. Seriously, it’s a game-changer. A good glitter primer creates a tacky base that grabs onto those glitter particles, significantly reducing fallout. Apply a thin layer to your lid where you want the glitter, let it get slightly tacky, and then go in with your chosen shade. Second, consider **applying your glitter eyeshadow before your foundation or face makeup. This way, any fallout that does occur can be easily wiped away with a makeup wipe or a piece of tape before you've laid down your base. It sounds counterintuitive, but trust me, it saves so much headache compared to trying to clean glitter off a perfectly set foundation. When it comes to application, if you find the shades "don't pack on a makeup brush" as easily, try using your fingertip! The warmth and natural oils on your finger can often help pick up and press glitter onto the lid more effectively. For a precise application, a flat, dense synthetic brush dampened with a setting spray or glitter adhesive can also work wonders. Instead of sweeping, press the glitter onto your lid in patting motions. This helps to adhere the glitter rather than scattering it. And what about that horrible chunky glitter that gets into lashes and is impossible to wash off? I’ve been there! For lash line glitter, I find a spoolie brush (a clean mascara wand) can gently brush away excess before it dries. For stubborn pieces, a tiny bit of oil-based makeup remover on a cotton swab is fantastic for specific cleanup without disturbing the rest of your makeup. Some people even use a piece of scotch tape to lightly dab and lift off glitter from their face. If, after all these tips, the KimChi Chic Diamond Palette still isn't working for your eyes, don't throw it away just yet! These beautiful iridescent glitters can be repurposed. Try using a tiny bit on your inner corner for a pop of sparkle, or even mix a small amount with a body lotion for a subtle body shimmer** on your decolletage or shoulders for a special occasion. It’s all about finding what works for you and making the most of your makeup collection. While this palette might have its quirks, with a few adjustments, you might just find a way to make those diamond glitters shine for you!
