... Read moreMy Portugal adventure, starting from MIA, was truly an experience I won't forget! This country is beyond charming, and I’m so excited to share more details about what made my trip so special. First off, Lisbon! Oh my goodness, the city is a kaleidoscope of colors. Walking through the winding, cobbled streets, I was constantly amazed by the vibrant multi-story buildings. Every corner felt like a postcard, especially in neighborhoods where you can see the city stretching up hillsides, packed with diverse architecture. You definitely need comfortable shoes because there are so many picturesque spots to explore on foot, from historic districts to lively squares. The energy is simply infectious, and I loved just getting lost and discovering hidden gems. Beyond the city, Portugal's coastline is absolutely breathtaking. I was mesmerized by the dramatic views – rugged cliffs plunging into the turquoise ocean, with waves crashing onto secluded sandy beaches. Imagine seeing large rock formations rising majestically from the water! It’s truly a sight to behold. I even stumbled upon picturesque coastal villages with their signature white houses and red roofs, often nestled right by the sea, sometimes with natural sea pools inviting you for a dip. The air there is so fresh and invigorating, perfect for a long walk or just soaking in the stunning scenery. You can see why places like these are so popular for their natural beauty. And let's talk about the food! While the original post briefly mentioned my love for ham and cheese sandwiches (and yes, they are genuinely amazing everywhere!), there’s so much more to savor. From savory seafood dishes, like perfectly cooked shrimp in olive oil served with toasted bread, to unexpected delights like the small fried pastry I tried, every meal was an adventure. Portuguese cuisine is full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Don't leave without trying some of their famous pastries or a fresh catch from the sea. One of my favorite moments was exploring a formal garden where I actually saw a peacock roaming freely – it felt straight out of a fairytale! The lush greenery and ornate stone steps were so beautiful, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city. It makes you realize how much variety Portugal offers, from vibrant urban life to serene natural landscapes and historical elegance. If you're thinking about a trip to Portugal, especially Lisbon, I can't recommend it enough. It’s a country that truly offers a blend of stunning natural beauty, rich history, incredible food, and a wonderfully colorful atmosphere. Every moment felt like a discovery, and I'm already dreaming of my next visit!
