12/2 Daily Debrief
Still sick, still potato-less, still attempting to function in this economy, but somehow today ended up being weirdly productive.
Here’s what I actually accomplished:
• Hit my writing goal (even while sounding like a character who haunts abandoned hospitals).
• Did math voluntarily and discovered I’m nearly at my 100th book sold.
• Survived the day without buying the potatoes I desperately need.
• Let my husband take over dinner so I didn’t have to battle the kitchen demons myself.
Energy level: mid, but boosted by not having to cook.
Mood: cautiously victorious.
Tomorrow’s intention: go to class (hello, almost-doctor) and draft the podcast script before the chaos catches me.
What did you manage to pull off today—big, small, or “I survived and that’s enough”?

Dealing with sickness while maintaining productivity can really test your resilience, but it’s important to celebrate the small victories that keep us moving forward. For writers and creatives especially, days when energy is limited yet goals are met deserve recognition. It’s impressive to hear about hitting writing targets despite feeling like a "haunted doll." This balance between managing health and productivity reflects real-life struggles many face. If you find yourself in a similar "potato-less" dilemma or battling kitchen chores on low energy days, remember delegating tasks—like letting a partner handle dinner—can boost your mood and energy levels, which is crucial for self-care. Marking progress like nearly reaching 100 books sold, especially through voluntary math tracking, shows a proactive approach to goal management that can inspire others to track their own progress. Planning ahead, like drafting podcast scripts before chaotic schedules take over, is a smart strategy. It helps maintain consistency in creative output while juggling health and other commitments, such as academic pursuits toward a doctorate. Sharing what you’ve accomplished, big or small, helps build a supportive community online and offline. Use hashtags that resonate with your journey—like #stillsurviving, #nopotatoes, #writerlife, and #settinggoals—to connect with others who understand your challenges and triumphs. Ultimately, days like these remind us self-compassion and perseverance are key. With cautious victory and small wins, you’re not just surviving—you’re moving forward, one step closer to your goals, even in imperfect conditions.
