SNOWMAN!

Oh my goodness, you guys! Last night was absolutely magical here in Northern Alabama. We rarely get snow like that, so when it started falling, my grand babies were beyond excited! Seeing their little faces light up as the flakes piled higher was just priceless. We bundled up and headed straight outside to build our very first snowman of the season. It wasn't just about rolling snow; it was about making memories. We laughed so much trying to get the bottom ball big enough – it's harder than it looks, especially with little helpers! The middle section and head came together with lots of teamwork. Finding the perfect accessories was part of the fun. We scavenged for the best stick arms we could find, giving our frosty friend a cheerful wave. And of course, no snowman is complete without a classic carrot nose! My grand babies debated for a good five minutes on which carrot was the ideal shape. We even used some pebbles for eyes and buttons, making him truly unique. It was still snowing a little, and the soft glow of the streetlights made everything feel so cozy and special. Our snowman stood proudly in front of our brick house, a testament to an unforgettable night. If you ever find yourself with unexpected snow, here are a few tips I learned from our build: Dress Warmly & In Layers: Especially for little ones! Waterproof gloves are a must to keep those tiny hands dry and warm. Start Small: Don't try to roll a huge snowball right away. Start with a small, dense snowball and gradually roll it, letting it pick up more snow. This makes it easier to manage. Compaction is Key: Make sure each section is well-compacted by gently patting the snow. This helps your snowman hold its shape and not melt into a puddle too quickly. Get Creative with Accessories: Look around your house! Buttons, old scarves, hats, pebbles, twigs, and yes, those classic carrots, all make for fantastic features. You can even use food coloring mixed with water in spray bottles to decorate your snowman with colors, making it even more vibrant! Capture the Moment: Take lots of photos and videos! Seeing my two grand babies proudly stand beside their snowman in the snow at night is a memory I'll cherish forever. The lighting was beautiful and made for perfect pictures. It’s not just about the end result, it’s about the joy of the process, the laughter, and the warmth of family time in the cold.
