My Electric Scooter Journey

Birthday gift gone wrong..

one of my favorite gifts ever! I was riding down an uneven sidewalk when I turned my head for a second when I turned back around to the front I was serving and went face first into the concrete! A chipped tooth & some major bruising is how I walked away!

The next ride after I thought I would try again my bf who got them from me actually fell after attempting his bunny hop 🤦🏽‍♀️ be careful if you plan on getting electric scooters!!

... Read moreYou know how sometimes your legs might feel a little red or spotty after a hot shower? I used to think that was the worst kind of 'red legs' I'd experience. Boy, was I wrong! My recent electric scooter journey took a wild turn, and I ended up with red, bruised areas on my legs that were far from just a post-shower flush. This isn't just about a normal skin reaction; it’s about what happens when an unexpected accident leaves its mark, literally. That day, after my face-first encounter with the concrete, I immediately experienced instant bruising. It wasn't just a tiny bump; the impact left significant red marks and deep bruises spreading across my knees and lower thighs. It was alarming to see how quickly my skin reacted to such a blunt force. The initial shock made me overlook the extent of the damage, but as the adrenaline wore off, the throbbing pain and the vivid purplish-red discoloration became impossible to ignore. It really made me question, "Was it worth it? NO!" falling off face first at 20 MPH! Getting help was crucial. The moment I realized the severity of my injuries, especially the chipped tooth and the extensive skin damage, I knew I needed professional medical attention. The doc fixed me up and I was healing, which meant a visit to the emergency room, getting my tooth checked, and a lot of advice on how to manage the bruising. They explained how blood vessels burst under the skin, leading to those dark red, bruised areas. For the first few days, applying ice packs, elevating my legs, and taking anti-inflammatory medication became my routine. It felt like I was constantly nursing these angry red patches. Beyond the initial medical care, the healing process at home was slow but steady. I learned that gentle massage (once the initial tenderness subsided), warm compresses, and even some natural remedies like arnica cream helped to fade those stubborn red marks. It took weeks for the discoloration to truly diminish. So, if you ever find yourself with unexplained red spots on legs or severe bruising, especially after an impact, don't just brush it off as a minor issue. It's important to monitor it and seek advice if it's painful, spreading, or doesn't improve. While some harmless redness after a shower is common, this kind of redness from an injury is a whole different ballgame. Looking back, my scooter adventure certainly wasn't the smooth ride I envisioned. My boyfriend's fall right after mine just sealed the deal on how quickly things can go south. We both learned the hard way about the importance of safety gear, like helmets and knee pads, and being extra cautious on uneven surfaces. Even a slight turn of the head can lead to serious consequences and those painful red, bruised areas. Now, I can happily say I'm officially all better! ❤️ and have a newfound respect for road safety and protective gear. My advice? Enjoy your electric scooters, but always prioritize safety so your journey doesn't end up with red marks like mine!
