私が行ってみて「ここは写真で見るより良い…！」と思ったのが旧太子駅。廃墟駅っぽい空気感はあるのに、散策しやすくて家族連れでも楽しめるバランスがちょうどよかったです。 見どころは、奥まで続く線路跡と、山沿いに連なるアーチ状のコンクリート構造物。光の入り方次第で雰囲気がガラッと変わって、まさに“ジブリの世界”と言われるのも納得でした。柱が連なっている内部は、少しひんやりしていて静か。天井が崩れて青空が覗く場所もあり、廃駅・産業遺構ならではの迫力があります。案内板に「登録有形文化財」と書かれているのを見つけると、ただの廃墟じゃなくて“残す価値のある場所”なんだなと実感しました。 電車好きキッズに刺さるのは展示車両。黒い貨車や、黄色い小型車両が線路上に置かれていて、外から眺めるだけでもテンション上がります。タイミングが合うと車両の中をのぞけることもあって、運転席目線で写真を撮るのが楽しかったです。小さい子がいる場合は、線路周りは足元がゴツゴツしやすいので、歩きやすい靴（できればスニーカー）推奨。 行き方は車がいちばんラクに感じました。渋川伊香保ICから国道をつないで約1時間半。現地は山の天気で体感が変わりやすいので、春秋でも羽織りを1枚持っていくと安心です。公共交通ならJR吾妻線の長野原草津口駅からバス＋「太子」バス停利用。帰りのバス時刻は先に確認しておくと焦らずに済みます。 料金は大人200円で、中学生以下無料（条件あり）なのがありがたいポイント。短時間でも満足度が高いので、草津・四万温泉方面のドライブ途中に寄り道するのもおすすめです。名前を「旧大子駅」と勘違いしやすいけど、群馬の“旧太子駅”なので検索時は要注意です。
