私も猫と長年暮らしてきましたが、先住猫の存在が新しい子猫のしつけに大きく影響する様子はとても共感できます。 老猫は体力が落ちていく中で迎え入れた子猫に刺激を受けて元気を取り戻すこともあり、そんな偶然の巡り合わせの中で猫たちは助け合いながら家庭に新しい活気をもたらすのだと感じました。 また、先住猫が新入りのしつけ役になるという習慣は、猫の社会性を育む上で大切な役割を果たしている と思います。私の経験でも、一匹飼いの時よりも多頭飼いで先住猫がしっかり子猫を教える場面が見られて、猫同士の絆がより深まっていました。 猫は飼い主にとってだけでなく、猫同士の間でも継承される文化や習慣があります。躾や甘え方、いたずらの仕方においても歴代の猫たちの性格や特性が影響し合い、懐かしさや温かさを感じさせてくれます。 私も年齢を重ねるにつれて最後の猫になるかもしれないと考え、後悔しないように大切に過ごしたいと思っています。猫との時間は有限だからこそ、日々のケアやコミュニケーションを大切にし、歴代の猫たちが教えてくれたことを心に刻みながら、新たな猫たちとの生活を楽しむことが何よりの幸福だと感じています。
