Spoiler alert: it doesn’t.

OCD isn’t a synonym for “neat” “tidy” or “organized.” It stands for “Obsessive Compulsive Disorder— a serious mental illness.

There are a lot of different subtypes of OCD. I struggle with many different kinds, and one of them is “Contamination OCD.”

Again- this is a serious disorder diagnosed by mental health professionals.

My contamination OCD makes it difficult for me to touch objects that my mind tells me are dirty or contaminated (ie; trash, things that touched the backseat of my car, and the lid to open the trash can), which makes it really hard for me to move them and clean the car.
