the soup is nice (not like wow amazing), beef is tender, but the noodles….wow i love it! it’s suuuuuper chewy!!!! 😋😋 this chain is super popular, i saw it quite a few times at foodcourts in taiwan! but i didn’t try it until my last day @ taipei airport ✈️

ala carte starts from NT150 (iirc) which is around SGD 6+! & their sets (incl a side dish & drink, see photo!) starts from NT189, SGD 7+! damn worth????? where can you get sets like that at this pricing in SG 🧐

anyway taiwan food is rly worth! i don’t rly see people recommending abt taiwan’s foodcourt but if you have the time, you should spend at least a meal there! foodcourt over there hits different — there is a wide variety of cuisines, food always comes with a drink, and it’s good 👍🏻

... Read moreWhen it comes to Taiwanese beef noodle soup, what really sets it apart is the texture of the noodles. At the Taoyuan Airport foodcourt, you’ll find hand shaved noodles that are delightfully chewy and springy, enhancing the overall eating experience. These noodles are different from hand-pulled ones, as they tend to have a firmer bite and a unique rustic feel, which I personally love. The beef in the soup is slow-cooked and tender, almost melting in your mouth, while the broth carries a rich yet balanced flavor that complements the noodles without overpowering them. What’s great about the airport foodcourt is that you can try these authentic, affordable dishes even if you have a short layover. Also, don’t miss the $2 lemon tart from a nearby bakery in the basement. It’s refreshingly tart and sweet, a perfect dessert to end your meal before you fly. For those interested in food comparisons, hand-shaved noodles have a unique edge over hand-pulled noodles because of their thickness and texture, which firms up nicely in the beef broth. This makes each bite satisfyingly chewy, a true highlight if you’re a noodle enthusiast. If you want to explore more food options at Taoyuan Airport, the foodcourt offers a wide variety of Taiwanese favorites served with drinks included in many set meals, offering excellent value compared to other places like Singapore. It’s definitely worth spending a meal there to get a taste of Taiwan’s diverse culinary delights during your trip.
