my guide to a “no fucks” 2024

my 2023 was TERRIBLE and i’m sure a lot of you relate. i feel like every year we say to ourselves, “i’m gonna live this year for me!” but never know the steps to get there! so here is my guide to living a “fuckless” 2024:

🌼 find hobbies

this one may seem odd, but having solid hobbies is a great way to place value back into yourself. often times, we become so busy with work, school, and life overall that we forget to take care of ourselves. prioritize yourself and the things you love to do!

🌼 exposure therapy for anxiety

for me, in 2023, i really struggled to make connections with people due to social anxiety. closure therapy really helped me with this. i would force myself to go to the gym, bars, and other places were i could interact with strangers to help myself warm up to being social. it helped me so much! whatever ur anxieties are, taking SMALL steps to tackle them in controlled environments can help greatly!

🌼 affirmations and gratitude

i know, i know. this one is incredibly cliché. but i’m not talking about toxic positivity. i want you just acknowledge the things you’re thankful for that you may overlook. when i go to the gym, i try to remember to thank God for my ability to move. when plans get cancelled with my friends, i tell myself, “that’s stinks! but i can spend the night with my family!” it helps you to recognize the good all around you. and when you’re aware of all the good, you tend to worry less about the bad.

giving “no fucks” isn’t all about a “screw you” attitude. it’s all about PERSPECTIVE ✨

... Read moreHey everyone! If you're like me, 2023 might have felt like a bit of a dumpster fire, and you're ready to seriously "unf*ck your life" in the new year. I truly believe that giving 'no f*s' isn't about being careless; it's about reclaiming your peace and focusing on what truly matters. Building on my initial thoughts, here are some deeper dives and extra tips I've picked up on my journey to a more intentional 2024. First, let's talk more about finding hobbies. It's not just about having something to do; it's about cultivating a part of yourself that isn't tied to work, responsibilities, or external validation. If you're feeling stuck, think about what you genuinely enjoyed as a kid before societal pressures kicked in. Did you love to draw, write, play an instrument, or spend time in nature? Or maybe try something completely new! Join a local class – pottery, a book club, or a dance class. The key is to schedule this time and treat it as non-negotiable. It's your personal recharging station, reminding you that your worth is inherent, not just based on your productivity. This is a huge step in learning how to give 'no f*s' to the pressure of constant performance. Next, exposure therapy for anxiety can sound daunting, but it's incredibly empowering. I started with small, almost unnoticeable steps. For social anxiety, it wasn't about hitting the busiest bar right away. It was about making eye contact with friendly strangers, then ordering coffee with a smile, or asking a quick question to a store clerk. If you have anxiety about public speaking, start by practicing in front of a mirror, then a pet, then a trusted friend. The goal is to gradually desensitize yourself to the triggers in a controlled way. Each tiny victory builds confidence, slowly but surely helping you "unf*ck your life" from the grip of fear. Remember: progress, not perfection. Finally, let's make affirmations and gratitude truly work for you. Beyond just thinking positive thoughts, I've found it powerful to write them down or say them aloud. For gratitude, try a 'three new things' journal every morning – list three things you're genuinely thankful for that day, no repeats. It could be the warmth of your coffee, a funny meme you saw, or a moment of sunshine. For affirmations, choose phrases that resonate deeply with your goals, like 'I am resilient and capable' or 'I attract positive experiences.' When negative self-talk creeps in, acknowledge it, then gently replace it with your chosen affirmation. This practice isn't about ignoring problems; it's about consciously shifting your internal narrative to one that supports you in creating the life you want, teaching you how to give 'no f*s' to the negativity that tries to hold you back. Ultimately, learning how to give 'no f*s' in 2024 is about understanding that your peace and well-being are paramount. It's a journey of self-discovery and intentional living, and I'm excited to continue it with you!
