私が作ってみて「ここ大事！」と思ったコツをまとめます。牛乳パック工作は小学生向けのイメージがあるけど、デザインペーパーとOPPテープを合わせると大人でも使える“きちんと感”が出ておすすめです。 まず材料の選び方。牛乳パックは柔らかすぎるものより、少し硬めの紙質のほうが角が立って仕上がりがきれいでした。ペン立て・小物入れにするなら高さは12cm前後が扱いやすく、定規で一周ぐるっと線を引いてから切るとガタつきにくいです。切る時は一度パックを軽くつぶして平らにすると、ハサミでもスパッと切れました。 次に「おしゃれ」に見せるポイント。花柄やチェックなどのデザインペーパーは、柄の向きを最初に決めるのが重要です。側面を貼る前に、パックに紙を当てて折り筋（ガイド）を付けておくと、両面テープを剥がした時にズレにくく失敗が減りました。角は“ピッタリ”を狙いすぎるより、最後にペーパーを折り込む工程で整えられるので気楽でOKです。 仕上げの補強はOPPテープがかなり効きます。私は縦方向→横方向の順に貼ると空気が入りにくかったです。透明のOPPテープで表面がつやっとして、汚れも拭けるので、ハサミ・メガネ・定規を入れても安心感が出ました。底面は特に擦れるので、底だけテープを重ね貼りすると長持ちします。 応用として、長方形の小物入れに「仕切り」を入れるとさらに便利。厚紙や別の牛乳パックを細長く切って中に十字に差し込むと、ペンとハサミが倒れにくくなります。カードケースっぽく使いたい時は、仕切りをじゃばら（アコーディオン）折りにした紙で作って立てると、メモやカードの分類もできます。 母の日の製作なら、外側を落ち着いた花柄にして、内側は白い紙で清潔感を出すとプレゼント感が増しました。廃材で作れてエコだし、短時間で完成するので、ぜひデザイン違いで何個か作ってみてください。
