Sooo we over here ADULTING 😩😂
We were outside having a nice family basketball game when our son decided to throw the ball and BAM 💥 hit his sister… without either one of us even knowing what he was about to do. 🤦🏽♀️
Then we come inside and suddenly nobody wants to go to bed, and apparently SHOWERING is now an option?! Like y’all haven’t been doing this your entire lives?! 😭
So now Mom & Dad are making a drink with the 1800 while we wait for these children to actually GO TO SLEEP… because apparently our shift is nowhere near over. 😂
And the disrespectful part? The drink ain’t even hitting like we need it to. 😩😂 Like 1800, BABY… we need you to clock in because we are TIRED.
We love our babies more than anything… but married-with-kids nighttime survival is REAL. 😂❤️

When parenting feels overwhelming and the kids should already be in bed, you're definitely not alone. Many parents can relate to the unexpected chaos that tends to erupt just as the day winds down. Whether it's a last-minute burst of energy, bathroom detours, or sibling mishaps like a sudden basketball thrown accidentally at a sibling, these moments test every parent's patience. In my own experience, creating a consistent bedtime routine has been essential. This often includes winding down activities such as reading a story together or dimming the lights to signal that it’s time to settle down. However, despite the best routines, kids sometimes resist going to sleep, turning the evening into a real endurance challenge for moms and dads. Using humor to cope helps a lot. Laughing at the unexpected chaos and sharing these moments with others makes the struggles feel lighter. Plus, having a comforting drink like the 1800 used in the story can become a little ritual for parents to help decompress after a hectic day. The key takeaway is that parenting, especially at night, is a marathon, not a sprint. The love for the children outweighs the exhaustion, and the messy moments become part of the cherished family memories. So if you find yourself waiting for your kids to finally go to sleep, know it’s normal—and you’re doing a great job navigating the beautiful chaos of family life.
