Organizing
Organizando mi cosina un paso ala vez, organizing my kitchen one step at a time #organizing #restock #oranizando #oranizandomicosina
You know that feeling? Staring at a chaotic kitchen, wondering where to even begin? I've been there! My kitchen used to be a never-ending battle with clutter, but I finally decided to tackle it. The secret? Taking it one step at a time. It felt overwhelming at first, but breaking it down made it so much more manageable. If you're ready to transform your cooking space without the stress, here’s how I approached my kitchen organisation journey, and what I learned along the way. First things first: Declutter, Declutter, Declutter! This is hands down the most crucial step. I started with one drawer, then one cabinet. Open it up, pull everything out, and be ruthless. Ask yourself: Have I used this in the last year? Do I really need it? Is it expired? For food items, especially, think about your ‘choice of appetite’ – what do you actually eat and use regularly? Get rid of duplicates, old spices, and anything that’s no longer serving a purpose. Donate items in good condition that you no longer need. This initial purge creates the space you need for true organization. It’s amazing how much unused stuff accumulates! Once the decluttering was done, I moved on to Zoning my Kitchen. This means grouping similar items together. For example, I created a ‘baking zone’ with all my flours, sugars, and baking tools. My ‘cooking zone’ has oils, everyday spices, and frequently used pots and pans near the stove. The ‘breakfast zone’ has coffee, mugs, and cereals. This simple idea changed everything! No more rummaging through multiple cabinets just to find a whisk. It makes cooking and meal prep so much more efficient and enjoyable. Next came the fun part: Smart Storage Solutions. You don't need to break the bank for this. I found some amazing budget-friendly options that made a huge difference. For drawers, dividers are a game-changer for cutlery, utensils, and even linens. In cabinets, stackable shelves or risers doubled my vertical space. Lazy Susans (turntables) are brilliant for corner cabinets or under-sink areas, making items easily accessible. And for my pantry, clear, airtight containers became my best friends. Not only do they keep food fresh, but seeing everything at a glance helps with meal planning and prevents me from buying duplicates. Don’t forget vertical space – hooks inside cabinet doors are perfect for pot lids, and wall-mounted spice racks keep countertops clear. My goal was to keep my countertops as clear as possible, only leaving out essentials like my coffee maker. Finally, remember that Maintenance is Key. An organised kitchen isn't a one-time project; it’s an ongoing habit. I try to do a quick tidy-up every evening, putting things back in their designated spots. The ‘one in, one out’ rule is also super helpful – if I buy a new kitchen gadget, I try to get rid of something old or unused. It prevents clutter from creeping back in. My kitchen organization journey has truly transformed my home. It’s no longer a source of stress but a calm, functional space where I genuinely enjoy cooking and spending time. It might seem daunting, but trust me, taking it one step at a time makes all the difference. You've got this!
