จากประสบการณ์การนั่งรถไฟตู้นอนชั้น 2 แบบพัดลม ผมต้องบอกว่าเป็นทางเลือกที่ตอบโจทย์สำหรับคนที่อยากเดินทางไกลโดยไม่ต้องจ่ายแพงเกินไป ผมลองซื้อตั๋วจากกรุงเทพอภิวัฒน์ไปยังสุราษฎร์ธานี โดยเลือกที่นอนชั้นล่างในขบวนที่ 167 ซึ่งราคาแค่ราว 500 บาทเท่านั้นเอง ข้อดีที่ผมสังเกตเห็น คือเตียงนุ่มปานกลาง มีหมอนและผ้าห่มพร้อมให้ ส่วนม่านช่วยให้คุณนอนได้สบายในช่วงกลางคืน แม้จะไม่มีแอร์แต่ลมพัดผ่านจากหน้าต่าง ทำให้ไม่รู้สึกร้อนมากและนอนได้เต็มตัว ต่างจากรถไฟชั้น 3 ที่นั่งพัดลมธรรมดาที่ไม่สามารถนอนได้เต็มที่ ช่วงกลางคืนการเปิดหน้าต่างรับลมพร้อมฟังเสียงธรรมชาติรอบข้างยังช่วยให้รู้สึกผ่อนคลายมากขึ้น ส่วนบรรยากาศระหว่างทางก็มีสลับกลิ่นชีวภาพตามที่ได้เล่ามานี้ ซึ่งก็เป็นเสน่ห์ของการเดินทางรถไฟที่ไม่สามารถหาจากรถทัวร์ได้ อย่างไรก็ตาม ต้องเผื่อใจเรื่องเสียงประกาศและเสียงออดแว่วๆ ที่ดังตามสถานีต่างๆ ซึ่งบางคนอาจตื่นง่ายแบบผม แต่ก็เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประสบการณ์รถไฟที่น่าสนุกไปอีกแบบ สำหรับคนเดินทางในช่วงฤดูฝน ต้องระวังเรื่องฝนที่อาจต้องปิดหน้าต่างทำให้เกิดความร้อนในตู้นอนได้ แต่ถ้าคุณเป็นคนชอบประหยัดและอยากลองสัมผัสการนอนรถไฟในบรรยากาศแท้จริง รถไฟตู้นอนชั้น 2 พัดลมถือว่าเป็นตัวเลือกที่คุ้มค่าและไม่น่าเบื่อเลยทีเดียวครับ สุดท้ายนี้ ผมอยากแนะนำให้มาถึงสถานีก่อนเวลาอย่างน้อย 20 นาที เพื่อเตรียมตัวและหาตำแหน่งที่นั่งพร้อมจัดสัมภาระให้เรียบร้อยจะช่วยให้การขึ้นรถไฟราบรื่นขึ้นมากครับ
