Christian Books I read Over and over

These 3 books are just so good that I have read them multiple times.

Each book encourages me in a different area of my life.

1. Women of the Word: taught me how to read the word of God for understanding

2. You are the girl for the Job: listen to this one! The way the author relays the message that God has fully equipped you is great. Listen to this when you feels discouraged about who you are

3. It’s not suppose to be this way: This book really helped me in a time when my life didn’t look the way I planned for it to look. It showed that God has a plan and is making me a better woman through my trials

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to dive a little deeper into why these three Christian books have become my absolute go-to resources for spiritual growth and encouragement. They've genuinely shaped my faith journey, and I hope they can do the same for you! First up, Jen Wilkin's 'Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts and Our Minds'. When I first started really trying to dig into God's Word, I felt a little lost. It's one thing to read the Bible, but another to truly understand it and apply it to your life. This book was a game-changer for me. It’s perfect for when you first start digging into the Word of God because Jen Wilkin lays out such clear, actionable steps for inductive Bible study. She teaches you how to observe, interpret, and apply scripture, moving beyond just devotional reading to a deeper, more robust engagement. I learned to ask questions, look for patterns, and truly engage my mind, not just my emotions. For anyone searching for a more structured way to approach scripture, especially if you're curious about diving into books like Ruth or other Old Testament narratives and feeling overwhelmed, Jen's method provides a fantastic foundation. It's honestly like having a wise mentor guiding you through the process, making the Bible come alive in a whole new way. Next, we have Jess Connolly's 'You Are the Girl for the Job'. Oh my goodness, if you've ever felt that nagging voice of self-doubt, this is the book you need. I listened to this one, and let me tell you, it's fantastic in audiobook format! Jess’s energy and message really shine through when she reads it herself. It’s incredibly empowering, especially for those moments when you feel like you don't have the confidence to be the woman God has called you to be. She passionately reminds us that God has fully equipped us with everything we need to fulfill our purpose. There were so many times I'd be doing chores or out for a walk, listening to her words, and just feeling this surge of encouragement and belief in myself. It’s a powerful affirmation that your unique gifts and personality are exactly what God wants to use, right here, right now. If you're looking for good Christian audiobooks that will light a fire in your soul, this one is a must-add to your list. And finally, Lysa TerKeurst's 'It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way: Finding Unexpected Strength When Disappointments Leave You Shattered'. This book came into my life at a time when things felt completely off-kilter. My reality wasn't matching the picture I had in my head for my life, and I was struggling with disappointment. Lysa shares her own vulnerable journey through unexpected pain and teaches us how to find God's presence and purpose even when life feels broken. It’s incredibly comforting and reminds you that when you feel like your "right now" isn't what you planned for, God still has a plan. He uses our trials to refine us and make us stronger, more compassionate women. Reading it felt like a warm hug from a friend who truly understands, helping me shift my perspective from despair to hope, knowing that God is always working things out for my good, even when I can't see it. These books aren't just one-time reads for me; they're companions I return to whenever I need a spiritual reset or a fresh dose of encouragement. I hope you find as much wisdom and comfort in them as I have!
