Day 18- Trust in the Lord

Hi friends! Here is day 18 of the Trusting God Challenge.

If you have an empty journal/notebook grab that for the month to write out scriptures and prayers.

Each day there will be a task to complete that will help you in letting go of fear/control and trusting God.

I pray this challenge helps me and you to draw closer to the Lord.

The idea that God is faithful 'over and over again' isn't just a nice phrase; it's a profound truth I'm learning to lean into more each day. When I look back, I can see so many instances where He's shown up in my life, even when I didn't recognize it at the time. It’s like His consistency is a gentle rhythm in the background of all the chaos. One of the most powerful ways I’ve been able to grasp this is through reflecting on His promises. The Bible is full of them, not just abstract concepts, but assurances for our daily lives. While I haven't listed '10 promises of God with Bible verses' explicitly here, I encourage you, as part of this challenge, to start looking them up. Think about promises of His presence – like 'I am with you always' (Matthew 28:20), which brings such comfort during lonely times. Or promises of provision, reminding us He cares for our needs (Philippians 4:19). There's also the promise of peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), which is a game-changer when anxiety tries to creep in. Just remembering these few helps shift my perspective entirely. The journaling prompt from today's challenge – to write about past experiences of God's faithfulness – is absolutely crucial for me. It's easy to forget His past mercies when facing new challenges. But actively pulling out my journal, like the devotional graphic suggests, and scribbling down those moments, big or small, helps solidify my trust. For instance, I remember a time when I was so worried about a specific situation, and I prayed for guidance. I felt a clear nudge to take a certain step, which at the time felt counter-intuitive, but it led to such a peaceful and positive outcome. Documenting these 'God moments' allows me to build a personal 'faithfulness images' album in my mind and on paper. Today's scripture, Psalm 33:4, reminds us, 'For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness.' This verse beautifully underpins the entire challenge. It’s not just about what God does, but how He does it – always with integrity and unwavering faithfulness. This understanding empowers me to let go of fear and control, which the original post mentions. When I truly believe that God's character is faithful and His promises are true, it becomes easier to release my grip on outcomes and trust His plan, even when it doesn't make sense to my limited view. This journey of daily reflection and journaling is slowly but surely transforming my heart and drawing me closer to the Lord, just as the challenge intended. I hope it’s doing the same for you!
