Your Body is Good Challenge: Week 1
I woke up this morning and I thought of many reasons why not to post this challenge but as I was closing down the house the Lord said to me why not and I decided that someone needs this just as much as I did when I worked through it a few months ago.
If you’ve ever struggled with your body or losing weight or loving the way that you look, this is a challenge for you. I’ve spent the majority of my life on and off of diets, trying to find something to fix what I thought was broken. But as I worked through this challenge a few months ago, I learned that nothing is broken. I learned that this is the body the Lord gave me and that I have to learn to steward it well. I’ve learned so many unhealthy habits in all my years of life, but I’m finally learning to break free from those bad habits and bad ways of thinking and change to a more positive way of thinking about my body.
I pray that this challenge helps whoever it needs to help. I pray that this challenge is a way of helping you to unlearned some of those bad habits and replace them with new ones. I pray that not only do you learn to treat your body well, but also to be a good steward to can you take one of those dishwasher and stick it in there I can run your mind as well.
I will be posting every week, a challenge daily for you to read scripture and to do something to either move your body, change your eating habits, or digging into the word of God in order to become a better steward of your body.

When I first began the "Your Body is Good Challenge," I was overwhelmed by years of negative self-talk and the constant battle with dieting and body image. What stood out to me most about this challenge was its holistic approach—not just focusing on physical change but also on spiritual nourishment and mental renewal. Each day's scripture served as a powerful reminder that my body is wonderfully made, a temple that should be honored and cared for lovingly. For example, reflecting on Psalm 139:13-14 helped me write down things I appreciate about my body, which shifted my internal dialogue from criticism to gratitude. Incorporating small changes, like adding a fruit or vegetable to my meals or swapping sugary drinks for water, felt manageable and motivating. Most importantly, resting became a form of worship, helping me to release the stress of societal expectations and find peace in God's plan for me. Physically, I began to enjoy simple activities like walking, not just for weight loss but as a way to clear my mind and draw closer to God, as Isaiah 40:29 encouraged. Spiritually, reading a full chapter of scripture each day nourished my soul and strengthened my resolve to be a better steward of the life and body God entrusted to me. This challenge reminded me that true strength comes from surrendering to God and trusting His design. It's about replacing old, harmful habits with ones that uplift and sustain us—physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you’ve struggled with body image or unhealthy habits, I encourage you to try this week-long devotional and physical challenge. It’s not just about changing your body but transforming the way you relate to it—with love, respect, and faith.
