Large head proportion, small: The head is very large compared to the body, typically accounting for about 2 to 3 parts of the total height (i.e., as high as 2 head lengths per head).
Detail attenuation: The complex details of a garment or body are simplified, to emphasize fluffy softness and comfortable looking.
Accent on cuteness (Kawaii): The face usually has big round eyes, clearly expressing and playful emotions.
Origin and meaning
Meaning: The word "Chibi" () in Japanese means "small" or "short."
Usage: This style is very popular in manga and anime, including collectible designs such as Nendoroid type figures.
Although the term Chibi is popularly used to call this lovely drawing style, in some contexts of the original Japanese, the term can be used mockingly or reprimand a short person, so be wary of its use in general communication beyond the art scene.
