Day 25 - “Greater Love”
Scripture:
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 (KJV)
There are moments in history that remind us freedom is never free. Behind every flag waving in the wind are stories of sacrifice, courage, and service. Today we honor the brave men and women who answered a call greater than themselves — those who stood in the gap to protect others.
The Bible teaches us that sacrificial love reflects the heart of Christ. Jesus laid down His life for us, and throughout history many service members have displayed that same spirit of selflessness, courage, and honor. While no human sacrifice compares to what Christ accomplished on the cross, we can still recognize the bravery of those willing to risk everything for others.
Today is not just about remembrance — it is about gratitude. Gratitude for those who served. Gratitude for families who carried burdens in silence. Gratitude for the freedoms many people often take for granted.
As believers, we should pray for veterans, active military members, first responders, and the families connected to them. We should also remember that true peace is ultimately found in Christ alone. Nations may rise and fall, but God remains our eternal refuge and strength.
May we never forget the cost of sacrifice — both earthly and eternal.

Prayer:
Lord, today we thank You for the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for others. Comfort the families who carry loss, strengthen those currently serving, and surround veterans with peace and healing. Help us to live with gratitude, humility, and honor. Most of all, thank You for the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gave His life so we could have eternal hope. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer remains a cornerstone, anchoring us in peace as we lift up those currently serving, those who have returned, and the loved ones who wait patiently at home. Another important insight from this day is the reminder that ultimate peace is found in Christ alone. This spiritual truth offers hope when political and social turmoil threaten our sense of security. Recognizing God as our refuge provides strength to persevere and honor sacrifice with humility. Incorporating gratitude into daily life can transform our perspective. Today is actually what it says it is. We remember all that gave their life in a foreign war. Nothing more nothing less.
