Who Are You Trying to Please?
Some of the hardest lessons I’ve learned are that you can’t please everyone—and you were never called to.
If we spend our lives chasing people’s approval, we’ll constantly change to fit their expectations. But when our desire is to honor Christ, we find the freedom to simply be faithful.
Not everyone will understand your calling.
Not everyone will agree with your convictions.
And that’s okay.
Our goal isn’t to be popular—it’s to be obedient.
As Paul reminds us in Galatians 1:10 (NASB 2020):
“For am I now seeking the favor of people or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.”
Today, choose faithfulness over popularity.
God’s approval is worth far more than the applause of this world.

Living a life that prioritizes God’s approval rather than people’s applause is a transformative journey. From my personal experience, the moment I stopped trying to meet everyone’s expectations, I found freedom and peace in my faith. This doesn’t mean being indifferent or unkind, but rather being anchored in God’s purpose for me. When I accepted that, I stopped trying to change my core beliefs just to fit in. Instead, I sought to be obedient and faithful, knowing that God’s approval is what truly matters.
