5 star reads: dark romance edition

Burning Ember by Darby Briar- Heard this on audio in Everand, an audiobook subscriber site, and loved it so much I purchased it on Audible. With Joe Arden as the male narrator it’s just the cherry on top. This is a biker dark romance, with twists and turns in the story you wouldn’t expect. The plot was entertaining and original, and the spice was chef’s kiss.

Speak by Ruby Darling- Purchased this on Audible when it was sale last week because the summary read good. Again, with Joe Arden being all three MMC’s I was flabbergasted! The storyline was unique and impactful. The story is full of trauma, retribution, and finding love where and when you least expect it. I’m currently hearing the 2nd book of the series called “Stutter”, and I’m just as obsessed with it, if not more! The spice had me clutching my pearls and at the end of my seat!

Property Of Necro by Bink Cummings- This book is dark lol, but I’m obsessed! I read it on kindle unlimited and I would love if I find a company in the nearby future to make this book as a special edition. Another biker dark romance, totally unexpected and totally entertaining! Spice was high on the radar lol, and addictive!

... Read moreIf you're a fan of dark romance, you'll know how captivating the mix of intense emotions and complex characters can be. What drew me most to books like "Burning Ember" and "Speak" is not just the steamy romance but the unpredictability and depth behind each storyline. For instance, Darby Briar’s "Burning Ember" combines the gritty biker world with unexpectedly tender moments, creating a thrilling push-pull dynamic that keeps you hooked. Additionally, the narration by Joe Arden enhances the experience, adding layers of emotion and realism, especially since he voices multiple characters uniquely. This kind of immersive audiobook experience is a game changer for lovers of the genre. One thing I appreciate about these titles is how they explore darker themes like trauma and redemption without losing the emotional core of love and connection. Ruby Darling's "Speak," with its focus on retribution and healing, feels grounded despite its intense moments. When paired with its sequel "Stutter," it offers a compelling look at how two people overcome their past in unexpected ways. If you enjoy biker dark romance with a heavy dose of spice and unpredictability, "Property of Necro" by Bink Cummings is another must-read. It’s darker, yes, but deeply engaging with complex characters and high-stakes drama.
