Being single is NOTA DISEASE

... Read moreHonestly, I can't count how many times I've been hit with, 'Why are you single? You're so pretty/smart/funny!' It used to really get to me, making me question if there was something wrong. But over time, I've come to realize something profound: being single is absolutely NOT a disease. It's a state of being, and often, a powerful choice. For me, it's been a journey of fierce self-love and building unshakeable self-esteem. Society often pressures us to believe that our worth is tied to our relationship status, especially for women. But what if we flipped that narrative? What if being single is actually a prime opportunity to discover who we truly are, independent of anyone else's expectations or affections? It's about recognizing that you are enough, just as you are. The idea of 'waiting for a valuable partner' really resonates with me. It's not about being picky for the sake of it, but about having a clear understanding of your values, your boundaries, and what you truly deserve in a partnership. Why rush into something that doesn't feel right, just to avoid the label of 'single'? I've learned that settling for less than what truly ignites your soul only leads to unhappiness. Waiting for someone who genuinely aligns with your life, someone who adds value rather than detracts from it, is a sign of strength, not weakness. So, how do we thrive in our single season? Invest in Yourself: This is huge! Pick up new hobbies, travel alone, learn a new skill. For me, diving into self-help books has been incredibly transformative. (Maybe that's why I'm so excited about starting a book club!) Nurture Your Friendships: Your platonic relationships are incredibly valuable. Spend quality time with friends and family who uplift you. Define Your Happiness: What makes you happy, outside of a romantic relationship? Pursue those things relentlessly. Don't put your life on hold waiting for someone else. Set Boundaries: Don't let intrusive questions or well-meaning but misguided advice get to you. It's okay to say, 'I'm happy as I am,' or 'I'm focusing on myself right now.' Challenge the Narrative: Every time you hear or feel the stigma, remind yourself that your worth is intrinsic. Being single is a powerful statement that you choose your own path and happiness. Ultimately, being single isn't a holding pattern; it's a valid and often incredibly fulfilling chapter of life. It’s a chance to build a life you love, for you, by you. And when that valuable partner does come along, you'll be even more whole and ready to share your amazing life with them, not because you need them, but because you choose them.

This right here 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Many people bore it as a sign of weakness when it reality it takes strength & discipline to remain single in a pool full of societal pressure. My ex confessed he moved on so quickly because he couldn’t be alone… while I am at peace in solitude ☺️✨
