Often, people assume abuse is just physical, but psychological and emotional abuse can be just as damaging, if not more so. The phrase "You don’t know the half of the abuse" perfectly captures how much suffering can go unnoticed or unspoken. In many cases, victims may feel isolated, confused, or afraid to share what they’re going through. The invisibility of such abuse makes it difficult for friends and family to recognize the signs. Sometimes it’s subtle control, manipulation, or constant belittlement that wears a person down. Social media hashtags like #민혁 and #fyp may bring discussions around individuals and awareness to the forefront, but behind the scenes, there’s often a lot more pain than what’s shared online. It’s crucial to listen with empathy and without judgment when someone hints at their struggles. Support networks, therapy, and safe spaces can empower victims to heal and regain control over their lives. Additionally, spreading awareness that abuse has many facets encourages a broader understanding and more compassionate responses. If you or someone you know is going through such experiences, remember that you’re not alone, and help is available. Recognizing the unseen layers of abuse is the first step towards hope and recovery.
