Why I have to have a hysterectomy at 26
After getting diagnosed with Systematic Lupus Erythmatpsis in fall of 2024 it was discovered that my uterus was having a heavy impact on the severity of which Lupus was attacking my body.
SLE (Lupus) mostly targets women of child bearing age as it thrives on Estrogen. Mine was especially sensitive to my body’s Estrogen resulting in extreme photosensitivity, seizures, & lung inflammation. After turning off my body’s estrogen supply via monthly injections to basically turn off my ovaries’ ability to produce estrogen, I was finally able to find some relief from the severity of my Lupus.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) primarily affects women of childbearing age and can exacerbate with estrogen levels. For many, the transition into menopause can be a path to relief, as decreasing estrogen may lessen disease severity. Understanding lupus, its symptoms, and its management options is crucial for those affected. It's essential to recognize signs such as extreme photosensitivity, seizures, and lung inflammation, which can often complicate everyday life. Monthly estrogen-blocking injections, as faced by many lupus patients, can offer a sense of control, but may also lead to tough decisions like a hysterectomy. Support from medical professionals and communities can provide invaluable insights on navigating treatment options. Engaging in discussions about experiences and adaptable wellness strategies can empower those diagnosed with lupus to embrace their health journeys. Combining medical interventions with lifestyle modifications such as stress management, nutrition, and exercise may further enhance quality of life. Being informed about the intricacies of lupus can significantly impact decision-making, ultimately leading toward better health outcomes.
