Who am I & what is my why?

When I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, it felt like my world had turned upside down. Every aspect of my life suddenly revolved around blood sugar levels, insulin, and constant management. But I made a choice-to not let this diagnosis define me as a victim.

Instead, I decided to empower myself, to learn everything I could about my body, nutrition, and holistic health. That journey led me to co-founding Chronically Healthy LLC with Erica Anderson, a place where we focus on helping others take control of their health, no matter the diagnosis.

Living with Type 1 has taught me that our greatest challenges can become our greatest motivators. We don't have to be prisoners of a diagnosis; we can use it as fuel to build a healthier, stronger life.

This journey often leads individuals to explore alternative approaches to health, such as Functional Medicine, which emphasizes the importance of treating the root causes of illness rather than just symptoms. Through personal stories and transformations, many find their 'why' in helping others navigate similar challenges when facing chronic illnesses. The support communities play a crucial role in this process, creating networks where individuals can share experiences, offer advice, and foster resilience. By embracing this newfound purpose, individuals can turn their struggles into passions, driving innovative health solutions like Chronically Healthy LLC, which focuses on educating others about nutrition and self-care strategies. Engaging with these broader discussions highlights the significant impact understanding oneself and connecting with others can have in reclaiming health. It's all about finding strength in shared experiences, and when one person stands up and advocates for health, they empower many more to join the movement for proactive, informed health management.
