Don't Walk the New Tampines CDC Trail. Jog It.

Don't say bojio! 🚨 5 BRAND NEW CDC Heritage Trails just dropped, and yes, you can still get paid to walk! 🤑

After claiming my vouchers on the Central and Punggol routes, my inner "lobang hunter" was ready. The new routes cover Kampong Glam, Tampines, Woodlands, Bedok, and Jurong.

Kampong Glam rewards vanished instantly, so my wife and I pivoted to tackle the Tampines route. Since we know the area well, we decided to jog the 4.3km instead of walk.

Here is my brutally honest verdict:

✅ The Good: The trail ends near Our Tampines Hub. Treating ourselves to Botak Cantonese Porridge & Best Zaika was the ultimate post-jog reward! 🍜

❌ The Bad: You’re weaving through random HDB void decks and active carparks. You really need to watch out for reversing cars and delivery riders! 🚗💥

📉 The Rewards: The game has changed. You now hunt a "Mystery Ollie" for up to $15. We missed it and only got $5 for our sweat. The reward pool is tighter now, though it seems to renew monthly.

My advice? Treat this as a fitness outing, not a money-making venture. If you get the $15, great; if not, you still got a solid workout in! 🏃‍♂️

Thinking of trying the 5 new routes? I share my full strategy, safety tips, and links to my past Punggol/Central reviews on the blog.

... Read moreIf you're planning to explore the new Tampines CDC Trail, here's some advice from my experience. While the trail offers a refreshing change to your usual workout route, keep in mind that certain segments wind through HDB void decks and active carparks. This means staying alert for reversing cars and delivery riders is essential to ensure your safety. One thing I appreciated was how the trail ends close to Our Tampines Hub, which makes it convenient to grab a delicious meal afterward. My go-to post-run spots were Botak Cantonese Porridge and Best Zaika—perfect for refueling! Regarding the rewards program, things have shifted. Instead of higher guaranteed rewards, you now have a chance to find a 'Mystery Ollie' with up to $15, though it can be unpredictable. I recommend treating the trail primarily as a fitness opportunity rather than a money-making venture; every run counts towards your health and wellness. For those wanting to maximize the experience, jogging the trail is a great way to cover the distance efficiently while enjoying the heritage sites along the route. If walking, be prepared for the surroundings and give yourself ample time. Also, consider checking out the other four CDC trails around Singapore—for varied scenery and fitness challenges. Before heading out, wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially on sunny days. Since the routes are new, keep an eye on official updates as the rewards and accessibility may change monthly. Overall, combining exercise with a chance to explore heritage spots makes the Tampines CDC Trail a worthwhile addition to your weekend activities.
