One time, I spent twenty minutes looking for my car keys, only to find them meticulously hidden under his favorite blanket in his sleep space. Another time, my phone charger vanished, and it turned up, perfectly coiled, in a shoe. Ferrets stash things because it's their natural instinct to hoard resources, but with Sirius, it feels like a personal challenge he enjoys. My best advice for living with a stasher like Sirius? Ferret-proof your home! Block off access to tempting hiding spots, keep valuables out of reach, and regularly check their favorite stashing zones. It saves a lot of frustration, trust me. And finally, Polaris, my other light-colored furball, who's a bit more "socially awkward" but makes up for it with what I affectionately call "aggressive kisses" and his adorable "grinch feet." He isn't always the first to join in the full-on ferret war dance, preferring to observe from a distance, but when he decides to show affection, he goes all in! His kisses are less gentle licks and more enthusiastic, full-face nuzzles – definitely an aggressive kisser in the best way possible. As for "grinch feet," well, his little paws are just a bit bigger and fluffier than the others, making him look like he's wearing tiny, furry boots, especially when he's playing in his red box! It's utterly endearing and unique to him. Living with these three has taught me so much about ferret personalities. They're not just pets; they're family members with distinct characters. Whether it's Vega's playful mischief and wet ferret kisses, Sirius's clever stashing, or Polaris's quirky affection, every day is an adventure.
