I wanted to share some tips and insights into the products we got, so you can also achieve your ultimate glow! First off, let's talk about the range. We received a fantastic mix, perfect for getting an awesome tan no matter your skin tone or desired depth. For those who love a clear, no-transfer formula, the clear self-tan gels are a game-changer. I got 'the og glow + shimmer' for a subtle radiance, 'low key glow' for an everyday bronze, and for a truly deep color, the 'darkest clear self tan gel'. What's super cool is they all contain hyaluronic acid + vitamin C, which means you're not just tanning, you're also hydrating and brightening your skin. Application is usually streak-free and super easy, letting the tan develop gradually. Then there are the self-tanning mousses/whips. These are fantastic for a quicker, more visible result. We got 'love at first tan', which is a darker 1-hour self-tan mousse – perfect for last-minute tanning emergencies! The 'plump up the bronze' whipped gradual tan sounds incredible with its caffeine, guaran, and hyaluronic acid for skin firming benefits. And for a nourishing glow, 'just shut up and sun kiss me' features marula + argan oil. These mousses are typically easy to apply, give a nice guide color, and develop beautifully. To ensure a flawless application, the right tools are essential. We got both the black 'tan mitt' and the pink 'smooth gel mitt'. The regular 'tan mitt' is a must-have for applying mousses and preventing those tell-tale tanned palms. It’s velvety soft and makes blending a breeze. The 'smooth gel mitt' is specifically designed for the clear self-tan gels; one side helps with smooth application, and the other is great for buffing out any areas to ensure an even finish. Using these mitts is crucial for an awesome tan and to avoid streaks or orange hands! Here are my top tips for achieving an awesome tan with these (or any!) self-tanning products: Prep is Key: Always exfoliate thoroughly 24 hours before you tan. Pay extra attention to elbows, knees, and ankles. Shave or wax at least a day before too. Moisturize Dry Spots: Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer to very dry areas like elbows, knees, hands, and feet right before tanning to prevent the tan from grabbing too dark. Apply Evenly: Use your mitts! Work in sections, applying the product in circular motions. Don't forget your back (a back applicator or a friend can help!). Hands and Feet Last: Use minimal product on these areas and blend carefully. You can even use a makeup brush for a more precise application around fingers and toes. Rinse & Hydrate: Follow the development time on your product. After rinsing, keep your skin hydrated daily with a good moisturizer to prolong your tan and ensure it fades evenly.
