Many stalls here close by early afternoon, some as early as 1pm, so I usually recommend heading there for breakfast or an early lunch to catch all the best offerings freshly served. One thing I love about 216 Bedok is how affordable everything is without compromising on quality. For example, the Xian Jin Mixed Vegetable Rice offers a wide variety of dishes at just $2 each, making it a perfect spot for budget-friendly eats. Also, if you're craving traditional flavors, the Hai Sheng Carrot Cake is a must-try with its subtle wok hei and strong cai por taste – I personally prefer the white carrot cake to black! Regarding Joo Chiat Chiap Kee, the popular fishball noodle stall, I found the freshly handmade fishballs particularly impressive with their bouncy texture and the distinctive vinegary mee pok. Just a heads-up, as some searches mention closure reasons, I checked recently and the stall is still going strong with long queues, so getting there early is best. For those interested in authentic poke-style prawn noodles, the Joo Chiat Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle stall combines prawns, pork ribs, and pig intestines at a reasonable price, creating a hearty and satisfying bowl. The Dunman Char Siew Wanton Mee offers thick egg noodles with a spicy chili sauce that's slightly salty for my taste but flavorful overall. Finally, if you're looking for a filling brunch, Mi Xiang Yuan Nasi Lemak stands out with their runny eggs, hashbrowns, and kway teow – an interesting twist that's both rich and comforting. Remember to check individual stall timings as some may close earlier. Overall, 216 Bedok Food Centre presents a wonderful range of traditional and affordable hawker delights, making it a food lover’s must-visit spot in Singapore.
