Mac productivity apps to try💻

Eagle is a must-have for creatives perfect for organizing all your visual assets, mood boards, and inspiration in one beautifully structured space. Pair it with CleanShot X, the ultimate screenshot and screen recording tool that makes capturing, annotating, and sharing content insanely easy and fast. Together, they create a seamless workflow for designers, thinkers, and productivity lovers who want their Mac setup to work smarter and look good doing it

... Read moreHey fellow Mac users and creatives! I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why the Eagle app has become an absolute game-changer for my workflow, especially for those of us constantly grabbing, tagging, and organizing images and visual inspiration. You know how cluttered your downloads can get? Eagle solves that beautifully, turning chaos into a perfectly structured visual library right on your Mac. But the real magic for me lies in Eagle App's Smart Folders. If you haven't explored them yet, you're missing out on a huge productivity hack! Imagine folders that automatically sort your assets based on criteria you define. For example, I have a Smart Folder that automatically collects all images tagged 'mood board' that are also marked 'high resolution.' Another one gathers all my screenshots from a specific client project, regardless of where I initially saved them. Setting them up is super intuitive: you just go to 'New Smart Folder,' define your rules (like 'tag contains X,' 'color is Y,' 'source is Z,' or 'rating is >3 stars'), and Eagle does the rest. It’s like having a personal assistant constantly tidying up your visual assets in the background, making it incredibly easy to find exactly what you need, exactly when you need it. This feature alone drastically cuts down on time spent searching and boosts my creative flow. Beyond Eagle, I also mentioned CleanShot X, which perfectly complements it for capturing Mac screens. Whether I'm making a tutorial, giving feedback, or just saving an idea, CleanShot X's ability to capture full screens, specific windows, or even scrolling content, then annotate it instantly, is unmatched. Together, these two apps create such a smooth workflow on my MacBook Pro. And speaking of Mac productivity hacks, I’ve seen some of you asking about Espresso App for Mac. While it's a completely different kind of tool than Eagle or CleanShot X, it's another handy utility for Mac users, especially if you need to keep your Mac from going to sleep. I've personally used a similar utility when rendering large video files or running long processes at my favorite cafe setting – it's super simple, often just a menu bar icon you click to prevent your display from dimming or your computer from entering sleep mode. It ensures your tasks run uninterrupted, which can be a small but significant productivity boost in its own right, preventing those annoying interruptions when you step away for a moment. Ultimately, whether you're deep into design, managing countless visuals, or just need to keep your Mac awake during a critical task, these apps illustrate how powerful a well-chosen toolkit can be for your Mac. Give Eagle's Smart Folders a try – you won't regret it!
