Working Mother & Infant Care

I go to work and baby goes to school.

Infant care:

- bb is exposed to friends and teachers at a very young age so she is pretty much an extrovert now and she enjoys going to school

- the teachers shower bb 2 times a day which is great

- ratio 1:3

- they would always sing and play with her, if she’s at home… I probably won’t have the enthusiasm or energy to do it everyday

- 7am to 7pm operating hours, great for working mothers who end work later

- down side, she had HFMD, flu, fever and some eczema because of her skin type

In summary, I love her infant care because she likes her teachers and they always take good care of her. This is the most important thing.

... Read moreWhen choosing infant care, I quickly realized the importance of a nurturing environment where my baby feels safe and engaged. The 1:3 teacher-to-child ratio at her school gave me peace of mind knowing she receives plenty of attention and interaction. One significant benefit has been the daily routine filled with songs, games, and art and craft activities. She especially enjoys exploring new toys supplied by the center, which means I don’t need to buy many at home—this has been both practical and budget-friendly. However, exposure to other children naturally comes with some health challenges like HFMD, flu, and occasional eczema flare-ups due to her sensitive skin. Despite these, I appreciate the care and quick responses from her teachers, which helps manage these issues promptly. The long operating hours, from 7 am to 7 pm, have been a lifesaver for my demanding work schedule, making it easier to coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups. Overall, connecting with a caring infant care provider who understands the unique needs of working moms has greatly eased my parenting journey and strengthened my daughter's social and emotional development.

Reflections after 1mth of infant care: E-Bridge!
Penning down some honest reflections about infant care! Generally, sentiments towards it are quite mixed so while I was 90% keen to send my son to infant care, the potential downfalls were always at the back of my mind! Hope this helps anyone who is considering infant care for their child too 🤍

Attending infant care from 2.5mths old!
When people found out that we were sending bb to infant care at a tender age of 2.5 months old, many comments we received were negative, such as: 💬 Oh no, so pityful, so young get sent away already 💬 Poor thing, will she be able to adapt well there? 💬 How come don't want to take care of her

How Much It Cost Me to Have a Baby (On a Budget)
When I first found out I was pregnant, it was completely unplanned. I wasn’t ready — emotionally or financially. But unplanned doesn’t mean unwanted — it just means fate decided I needed to grow up and stop messing around in my 30s 🤣 Through it all, I learned one big lesson: save money, and k

🌅 Parents, does your mornings look like this too?
Mornings are sooo rushed. Our day starts way earlier than we’d like, yet somehow there’s never enough time. Even though we wake up at 6:30am every single day, it still feels insufficient. There’s no slow coffee, no scrolling in bed… Just: wake baby, feed baby, change baby, prep infant care ba

I didn’t want a helper raising my baby — so we chose infant care
After sharing why we didn’t get a helper (for now)… here’s the other side of the story. Because the truth is — helpers can make a HUGE difference in daily life. Less physical exhaustion. More breathing room. More time for what actually matters. Different families, different setups. There’s n

👶 Helper vs Infant Care (No Regrets so Far)
When I had my baby, everyone said: “Get a helper, easier life!” But I went the other way — I sent my baby to infant care at just 10 weeks old. Now she’s 5 months 8 days, and honestly… it’s been a ride 😅 Yes, she falls sick so easily (every IFC mum knows this struggle 😭) — but I still wouldn’t

My Thoughts on Infant Care ✨👶🏻
Sharing this as I know how nerve-racking it can be for moms to send their very young babies off to school 🥹 I was worried initially as my baby is quite sensitive - she’ll scream if a stranger carries her and she cannot sleep with noise. I also heard many horror stories of babies falling sick so

I resigned
I used to enjoy working, I don’t quite know how to describe it but it was just fun spending time with colleagues, celebrating and struggling together. I enjoyed having the financial freedom to buy whatever I liked when I wanted to. I never thought I would be leaving my first full-time job so soon.
