Picture 2: Nappy rash, diaper cream, buttock care, baby wipes and scented diaper bag
Can you imagine how uncomfortable, itchy and unbearable nappy rash can be?! I guess we won’t be able to relate, but seeing my little one go through it is painful.
- For wet wipes I do like BZU BZU, because it’s wet enough, scented and gentle.
- Diaper cream I like mustela for daily use and Desitin for outbreaks/uncontrolled conditions.
- Vaseline is used as an alternative, multi-purpose and affordable. The ingredients are also simpler.
- Diaper bag, I won’t say it’s a must but I do use plastic bags to seal up the poop diaper every-time so might as well just get a scented one.
Picture 3: Moisturisers, eczema, dry skin, too much moisture around the neck and body folds, stomachache, rash and baby spa
- Basic Aqua Cream from polyclinic is only like 80 cents! Price may vary but we paid like 80 cents for a full size. Unscented and safe for baby to use since doctor prescribed.
- mustela products again because the products works and usually Shopee has promotion so just stock up, bulk purchase and stack the vouchers. Great deal!
- Yu Yee Oil (如意油) a small bottle goes a long way, can be used to massage baby’s abdomen to help relief gas.
It’s always handy to buy product of smaller size because we don’t know if the baby will use it for a long time or may be sensitive to it.
Always ask around to see what others are using for their babies, most parents out there are more than happy to share and I’ve gain a lot of information, knowledge and useful tips from their sharing 🥰

Caring for a baby’s delicate skin can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with issues like nappy rash, dry skin, or eczema. Fortunately, there are affordable solutions that don’t compromise on quality. For instance, Mustela’s Vitamin Barrier Cream is highly regarded for preventing and treating diaper rash and is formulated to be gentle on newborn skin. In cases of persistent rash outbreaks, Desitin offers a thicker barrier that soothes and protects irritated skin effectively. In addition to creams, the choice of baby wipes matters. BZU BZU wipes stand out because they are both adequately moist and scented without being harsh, making diaper changes gentler and more comfortable for your baby. To keep odors in check when disposing of soiled diapers, scented diaper bags can be a great, inexpensive addition to your diaper bag essentials. For dry or sensitive skin, simple and affordable products like the Basic Aqua Cream from polyclinics provide a doctor-recommended option that is safe and unscented. Mustela moisturizers often go on promotion which presents a great opportunity to stock up without overspending. Using smaller product sizes is practical as babies can have sensitivities and might not use products for extended periods. Yu Yee Oil, a traditional remedy, remains popular for infant massage, particularly to soothe stomach discomfort by relieving gas. Its longevity and multi-use nature make it an economical choice for many families. Parents often find valuable advice and product recommendations from their community, reinforcing that sharing experiences can help new parents navigate baby care confidently. Exploring different options within a reasonable budget and consulting with fellow parents can enhance your journey, ensuring your baby’s comfort and health with essentials all under $20.
