protein pasta🍝

1. Just add a blended mild, white bean of your choice to the sauce.

2. Then add garlic, Italian herbs & spices, & parm until you cannot taste the beans anymore (doesn't take much).

Super easy, and adds a lot of fiber & protein to an otherwise very simple meal. You can make this even higher in protein by using a chickpea pasta, or adding shredded tofu or roasted chickpeas on top😊

I like to add other veggies as well, usually spinach, onions, peppers, and some type of squash.

... Read moreAdding protein to pasta doesn't have to be complicated or compromise taste. Using blended mild white beans in the sauce is a great trick I often use—it thickens the sauce while quietly boosting fiber and protein without overpowering the flavors. I’ve found that enhancing the sauce with garlic, Italian herbs, and just a touch of parmesan cheese masks the bean taste perfectly. For an even higher protein punch, chickpea pasta is a fantastic base. It's widely available now and cooks just like regular pasta but contains significantly more protein. Sometimes I like to top my meal with roasted chickpeas or shredded tofu, providing a delightful texture contrast and extra nutrients. Vegetables are key to balancing the dish nutritionally and visually. Spinach, onions, bell peppers, and seasonal squash add vitamins, minerals, and fiber, making every bite colorful and wholesome. Plus, veggies bring freshness and natural sweetness that pairs well with the savory sauce. This protein pasta is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or meal prep. It’s an adaptable recipe—you can swap vegetables based on what's in season or your personal preferences. I’ve kept this method in rotation for months because it’s reliable, tasty, and caters well to vegetarian meals without using heavy cream or cheese sauces. If you’re transitioning to a plant-based diet or just want to add more plant proteins, try this pasta idea. It’s a comfort food that supports your health goals and is satisfying enough to please even meat-eaters in the family. Experiment with herbs and toppings to make it your own and keep mealtimes exciting!
