Why can’t I be prettier?
A question I always asked myself
“Why can’t I just be pretty like her”
I Got so caught up in how other girls were dressed, the texture and color of their hair, their perfect body, etc….
I got so caught up that I COMPLETELY forgot who I was and what my identity was in!
Ask a girl I know we all struggle with this in some way, shape or form, but I’m here to stand up and say IM DONE!
My identity is NOT in who want to impress, what I look like in the mirror, what color looks best on me, etc.
MY identity is in God… the one who created me in the womb… the one who made me fearfully and wonderfully! I challenge you to dive deep and see who God created you to be!
Follow me on my journey as we dive into Proverbs 31 (“BECOMING 31”)
“Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.”
Proverbs 31:25-31

In today's society, the pressure to conform to certain beauty standards can lead many individuals to question their worth. The mindset of comparing oneself with others can be overwhelming, leading to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. However, confronting these feelings is crucial. It is essential to look inward and discover intrinsic worth beyond physical appearance. Proverbs 31 offers a powerful reminder of the enduring qualities that truly define beauty. Rather than focusing solely on external attributes, the text encourages women to embrace strength, honor, wisdom, and kindness as their defining attributes. This spiritual perspective invites individuals to rethink their values and embrace authenticity, rather than chasing fleeting societal ideals. Building a supportive community where friends uplift one another can be instrumental in this journey. Establishing relationships centered on encouragement, self-love, and the rejection of negativity helps create a safe space for growth and acceptance. Involved discussions about beauty, identity, and mindset can empower many to participate in the journey of self-discovery collectively. As we learn to celebrate our uniqueness and bolster our inner strength, we create a more accepting environment in which authenticity thrives. By sharing our stories and vulnerabilities, we inspire others to break free from the shackles of comparison and appreciate their true selves.
