Should I try therapy?
The word therapy used to scare me. The thought of venting to a stranger about the most darkest things of my life was a nightmare, but after thinking it through and research I think I’m ready to try therapy. I’m still scared however I found that the pros outweigh the cons and how will I ever know if I don’t try.
A therapist provides a safe, non-judgmental space to express your thoughts and feelings. This can be especially helpful if you don’t feel comfortable discussing certain issues with friends or family. I’m not that close to my family member where I can vent and sometimes they are the cause of my stresses. Therapy helps you better understand your emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns. Increased self-awareness can empower you to make healthier choices and understand why you feel or act a certain way. Therapists teach practical tools and techniques to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. These strategies can be valuable for handling future difficulties.
