pool time & spf
Did y’all know that you’re supposed to reapply sunscreen every two hours. It’s super hot here in Texas and I always reapply because it’s so easy for me to burn. One time I did not reapply and I got the nastiest sunburn ever. I always carry face sunscreen and regular sunscreen in my bag at all times. #lemon8contest #AskLemon8
When heading to the pool, understanding the importance of SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is vital for skin health. It’s recommended to select a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Look for water-resistant options, especially if you plan on swimming or sweating. Reapplying sunscreen every two hours is essential, but remember to do so more frequently if you’re swimming or towel-drying, which can remove the protective layer. For optimal protection, apply a generous amount about 15 minutes before sun exposure to allow the skin to fully absorb the product. Don't forget to cover often-missed areas like ears, feet, and the back of your neck. Remember to stay hydrated and seek shade when the sun is strongest, typically between 10 AM and 4 PM. Lastly, consider wearing protective clothing such as hats and UV-blocking sunglasses for added safety. Enjoy your pool time while keeping your skin safe!

My uv has been so low here recently (illinois) but I still reapply because i actually started getting sun freckles from being in the sun once this summer without it ðŸ˜
