I’m unrecognizable in 3 short years.
Before I got a job, I was super depressed. I spent every single day at home playing games from morning until night, completely disconnected from everything else. Since I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have any money, and that only made things worse. I had no real desire to do anything, no motivation, no goals, and not even dreams for the future. It felt like I was stuck in this endless cycle of doing nothing and being nothing.
During that time, my family and my boyfriend did everything they could to help me get back on my feet. They would send me job applications, help me fix up my resume, and encourage me when I wanted to give up. I look back on that now and feel so grateful, because they believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself at all.
Once I finally landed a job and received my first paycheck, my entire life shifted. That single moment sparked motivation, confidence, and courage in me things I hadn’t felt in over a year. Suddenly, I wasn’t stuck anymore. I started setting goals and saving toward them, and slowly, I forgot about the old version of me.
Now it’s almost been three years since I’ve been working, and I can honestly say I am the happiest I have ever been. In just those three years, I have done more than I thought was possible when I was stuck in that dark place. I’ve traveled, bought my first car, gotten engaged, married the love of my life, and even built a house.
