Are y’all doing okay?
Lately, I feel like all the darkness circling on the internet has been weighing heavily on me. I’ve seen things I didn’t want to see and heard news I didn’t want to hear, and it’s been taking a toll on my mental health. No matter how much I try to scroll past, it sticks with me images, words, and videos that replay in my mind when I should be resting. It’s exhausting to carry that heaviness day after day, and it makes me feel like I can’t catch a real break.
I know the world can be dark, but lately it feels like I’ve been drowning in it just by opening up my phone. The constant flood of negativity and bad news leaves me anxious and mentally drained. I’ve been thinking that I might need to take a step back from certain platforms, at least for a while, just to breathe again. Disconnecting might be the only way to protect my peace and give myself the space to recharge without feeling like I’m constantly being hit with the weight of everything going wrong. #girlpov #lemon8challenge #mentalhealthawareness
The news has been draining me — these words many can relate to in today’s fast-paced digital world where news travels instantly and often in overwhelming waves. It’s important to recognize that exposure to relentless negativity and distressing content online can significantly impact our mental health. One effective approach to preserving your well-being involves setting intentional boundaries for media consumption, such as allocating specific times for checking the news and social media, thus preventing constant exposure to stressful content. Taking breaks or 'digital detoxes' can help your mind recover from emotional exhaustion caused by endless scrolling through upsetting stories and images. Additionally, curating your social media feeds by unfollowing accounts that contribute to anxiety or negativity and following those that promote positivity and support mental health creates a healthier online environment. Engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation—whether it’s spending time outdoors, practicing mindfulness, or connecting with close friends and family—can replenish your emotional reserves. Remember, prioritizing your mental health doesn't mean ignoring important issues, but rather managing how and when you engage with them to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Creating a balance between awareness and self-care empowers you to stay informed without compromising your inner peace. If you find yourself struggling, talking to a mental health professional can provide additional strategies tailored to your unique needs. Ultimately, by being mindful of how digital content affects you and taking steps to protect your peace, you can navigate the online world with greater resilience and improve your overall mental wellness.

We were never meant to see, know what we have access to every day. Breaks are very important! Social media is buying our attention by making us depressed, angry so we continue to use it because of the hopelessness it creates on top of the dopamine. Sending so much love to you
