Anyone else agree??
I used to have a bad relationship with food because of everyone telling me it’s unhealthy.. I would avoid eating snacks, rice, mostly everything that I liked. It got really bad.
I had to keep reminding myself that it’s OK to eat what I want sometimes. I still eat healthy, but I still occasionally eating things that aren’t good for me… and it’s okay!
Many people today feel overwhelmed by the constant message that many foods are unhealthy, which can lead to anxiety or guilt when eating. The feeling that "everything is unhealthy these days" is relatable and reflects the confusion around nutrition information. In reality, maintaining a balanced diet means allowing yourself flexibility and enjoying a variety of foods without stress. It's important to recognize that labeling foods strictly as "healthy" or "unhealthy" can create an unhealthy relationship with eating. Moderation is key—occasional treats or comfort foods like snacks and rice can be part of a nutritious diet when consumed mindfully. This approach helps reduce feelings of deprivation and supports long-term healthy habits. Remember, the goal is to nourish your body and enjoy your meals without guilt. Focusing on whole foods most of the time while permitting occasional indulgences empowers you to build sustainable eating habits. If you notice negative feelings around food, consider reflecting on your mindset and how societal messages have influenced it. Embracing balance can lead to greater satisfaction and well-being.
