BATTLE OF THE CLEANSING BALMS
I recently have gotten over my texture based fear of cleansing balms. I am extremely picky about the ones I use.
These two are in my current rotation and I wanted to talk about them.
This is:
Battle Of The Cleansing Balms (Drugstore Edition)
***
Drugstore prices are getting up there especially when it comes to skincare. (Yes I consider these skincare)
NYX Cleansing Balm VS Garnier Cleansing Balm
PERSONALLY i think you get more bang for your buck with the Garnier balm because you get basically double the amount for $4 more. It lasts forever and I feel like it does a better job at removing product.
It really breaks down stubborn makeup whereas the NYX one I feel like removes it to a degree but I have to go in twice with the cleansing balm and then in with a regular cleanser to TRULY feel like my skin is clean.
I feel like I am EATING the NYX one every time I use it. For $10 youre not necessarily losing out but I fear you'll go through it almost twice as fast as you will go through the Garnier balm.
Have you tried either of these?

In my journey of trying out cleansing balms, the texture and feel were my main concerns, so I was skeptical at first. However, after consistent use of both NYX and Garnier cleansing balms, I've gained real insight into their performance beyond just price and quantity. The Garnier Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Balm truly impressed me not only because it comes with a larger size (4.2 oz) compared to the NYX (1.7 oz), but also because it contains hydrating hyaluronic acid that benefits the skin during removal. This balm effortlessly dissolves all types of makeup, including long-wear formulas, without leaving any residue. It feels silky on the skin and requires only one thorough application, saving time and product. Plus, being dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested gave me added confidence, especially for my sensitive eyes. On the other hand, the NYX The Face UnGlue Cleansing Balm, while nicely formulated with a non-stripping formula and 24-hour hydration claims, tends to be a bit less efficient for me. I find myself needing to apply it twice and follow up with a regular cleanser to attain that squeaky-clean feel I crave. Although it is effective, financially it seems less economical since you’ll likely run out almost twice as fast. However, its compact size is convenient for travel and smaller skincare routines. Personally, if value and efficiency are your priorities, Garnier wins hands down. It feels nourishing thanks to the active ingredients and removes makeup like a pro while lasting longer. If you prefer something lightweight for quick use or travel, NYX is still a solid contender. For anyone hesitant about cleansing balms due to texture or fear of residue, I highly recommend trying Garnier first. Its comfort and performance changed my perception about cleansing balms completely. Also, always remember to follow up with your regular cleanser if you want to ensure all traces of makeup and impurities are removed. Have you tried either of these balms?
