Light doesn’t age
“You are the light of the world…”
— Matthew 5:14
This morning, I sat with this passage and
couldn’t help but reflect on my name —ℂ𝕪𝕟𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕒.
Most call me Cindy, but its meaning?
Light. Bringer of light.
I don’t think that was ever an accident.
I believe it was a calling.
But even as someone who longs to shine
for Him, I’ve been asking myself:
➪𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?
Sometimes the baskets are woven from fear—
Fear of being misunderstood.
Fear of rejection.
Fear that we’ll shine too brightly
and make others uncomfortable.
Other times, they’re stitched together from past wounds, shame, unworthiness, or the haunting
lie that someone else can do it better.
But the truth is —
your light was never meant to compete.
It was meant to complete.
To complete a space.
A moment.
A heartꨄ
I gave it my all to be a spark in the classroom
as an educator, a beacon in my family, a flicker
of hope in my community, and a torch for truth in my walk with Jesus. And if even one person saw God because of my light, then I believe Heaven rejoiced.
So, what are the baskets? 🧺
Maybe it’s holding back your voice on hard topics.
Maybe it’s comparison.
Maybe it’s fatigue from the journey, or a fear that your light is now less than it once was.
But light doesn’t age.
It just finds softer ways to glow✨
Lift the basket by speaking even when your
voice trembles.
Lift the basket by choosing presence over perfection.
Lift the basket by remembering your name.
