When the Light found me
This morning’s devotional led me to revisit the Beatitudes… and it opened something deep
within me I felt ready to share.
If you’re walking through grief —or carrying
sorrow you rarely speak of —this is for you.
Some stories grow from pain, but bloom into something holy.
This is one of mine.

This morning, as I sat with my devotional and opened the Word, I found myself drawn again
to the Beatitudes —those tender promises
spoken by Jesus in Matthew.
And as I read “𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯,
𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥,” I felt it stir something
deep in me.
Because grief has walked closely beside me
in this life…
But so has grace.
Grief brought the darkness, but grace brought
the dawn.
There was a morning I’ll never forget …
The kind where the ache was louder than the birdsong, and tears blurred the beauty right
in front of me.
But then —like a gentle whisper— light broke through the clouds.
Not just in the sky… but in me.
I had been walking through the valley for so
long, I forgot to look up. I thought God only met people on mountaintops —where joy lives loud
and strong.
But I was wrong.
He met me low.
Where the wildflowers bloom.
Where hearts feel broken and unseen.
And He called it beautiful.
Because it was in that hidden place —where
I mourned my big brother, wept for my mom,
and grieved the daughter I never got to hold because of a choice I made so long ago —
that I finally felt Him hold me.
Jesus said, 𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺
𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥.
And He keeps His promises.
If your heart is heavy today, I just want you to
know — He’s there, right where it hurts, offering comfort only He can give.
You are not alone in your sorrow. God is not far from your ache —He’s closer than your next
breath. Even in the shadows, you are seen.
You are held. And in time, light will bloom again.
He’s walking the valley with you, step by step…
and when the time is right, you’ll see the wildflowers too.
