Just last evening, the wonder of this was not the rainbow itself, but how it appeared.
There had been no storm.
No rain where we were.
No thunder, no warning, no obvious reason for the sky to suddenly open into color.
And yet there it was — stretched across our mountain in such a way that it felt as though it was framing our home.
That’s what took my breath away.
It didn’t feel random.
It felt personal.
As if heaven chose that exact moment to draw a frame around this little place that has held so much of our life — our healing, our gratitude, our porch mornings, our prayers, my writing, Al beside me, Macy in my lap, and the quiet sacredness of ordinary mountain days.
For a few breathtaking moments, it was as if God put His hand around our home and whispered, I see you.
Maybe that’s why it moved me so deeply.
It reminded me that beauty doesn’t always arrive after the hard thing.
Sometimes it appears right in the middle of an ordinary evening, unexpected and undeserved,
like grace.
And sometimes it comes in such a way that it feels as though heaven itself is framing the very place where your life is unfolding — a promise resting gently over our home. 🌈🏡✨

I've often found that these moments come when we least expect them, like a soft whisper amidst our daily routines that tells us everything will be alright.
In my personal experience, nature has a remarkable way of offering comfort and reminders of hope. Just like this rainbow stretched across the mountain, not following any usual rules, there are times when life surprises us with beauty and peace that don’t fit our expectations or timing but arrive exactly when we need them most.
I remember a similar calm yet awe-inspiring moment during a quiet evening walk when the sky suddenly lit up with colors, though the forecast predicted clear skies. It felt like the universe was pausing to acknowledge the present, to celebrate the small joys we often overlook—the warmth of home, the presence of loved ones, the simple prayers and quiet moments that build our days.
What stands out about such experiences is not just their rarity, but their profound sense of connection. It’s as if there’s a gentle encouragement to slow down, appreciate the present, and recognize that beauty and grace are woven into the fabric of ordinary life, not just the extraordinary or after hardship.
For anyone feeling weighed down by life’s challenges, these unexpected gifts from nature can serve as gentle reminders that hope, healing, and gratitude are alive and well—sometimes shown through the most subtle signs like a rainbow framing your home on an ordinary evening. These moments invite us to be present, to feel seen, and to embrace the quiet sacredness that surrounds us every day.
