As many of you know, I’ve spent the last several years writing and sharing pieces of my story.

What many don’t know is that this coming Monday, I’ll be undergoing a major surgery that will last several hours and require a hospital stay afterward.

I’m not quite ready to share all the details yet, but I will say this: the procedure is intended to repair something I’ve likely lived with for most of my life.

For decades, I’ve struggled with severe asthma, unexplained health challenges, and a body that seemed determined to hold on tightly despite every effort to move forward. Like so many things in life, the answers weren’t where I expected to find them.

Over the past several months, doctors have uncovered connections that help explain years of unanswered questions. For the first time, many of the puzzle pieces finally make sense.

Perhaps that’s one reason I felt such a strong urgency to complete the third book in my trilogy before Monday.

The final book is called 𝘼 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚.

I’m not being dramatic when I say there is always risk whenever we place ourselves under anesthesia for several hours. Most people come through without issue, and I fully expect to do the same. But finishing that book brought me a deep sense of peace. It felt important to leave those words behind, just in case.

Thankfully, the manuscript was completed a full week ahead of my surgery date.

As I head into this next chapter, I’m filled with gratitude—for skilled doctors, for answered prayers, for family and friends who have walked beside me, and for the quiet assurance that sometimes God reveals the “why” only after we’ve spent years asking the question.

If you think of me on Monday, I’d appreciate your prayers.

And when the time is right, I’ll share the rest of the story.

6/6 Edited to

... Read moreUndergoing a major surgery for a condition that has affected you for most of your life can feel both daunting and hopeful. From personal experience and stories shared by others, such moments often become turning points—not just physically but emotionally and mentally. Living with severe asthma and chronic health issues can make everyday life unpredictable. Simple actions like breathing deeply, exercising, or even sleeping well become challenges that others may not always understand. Over time, these difficulties shape one’s resilience and habits for self-care. What struck me most about this story is how clarity can suddenly emerge after years of uncertainty. It reminds me of a time when a series of unidentified symptoms left me frustrated, but finally a medical breakthrough helped connect the dots, allowing for better management and treatment. The relief that comes with finally understanding your body’s messages is profound. The commitment to finishing a meaningful project, like a book trilogy, before surgery is inspiring. It embodies the human spirit’s desire to leave something lasting behind—an emotional anchor and a source of peace. Completing the manuscript ahead of the operation suggests a deep inner strength and preparedness that many can relate to when approaching life’s big challenges. Additionally, the mention of gratitude resonates strongly. Appreciating skilled medical teams, supportive family and friends, and spiritual comfort underscores how healing extends beyond the physical. It involves a network of care and belief that can make a significant impact on recovery and outlook. If you or someone you know is facing a significant medical procedure after years of unexplained symptoms or chronic illness, remember that you are not alone. Reach out to your support system, communicate openly with your healthcare providers, and allow yourself space to process the emotions involved. Like the author’s journey, sometimes the “why” becomes clearer only after years of questions and waiting. Finally, the courage to share such a personal experience, even partially, offers hope and connection to others navigating similar paths. It demonstrates that vulnerability can be a vital part of strength and healing. If you are anticipating your own health journey, consider what meaningful actions or projects you might take on as a source of comfort and purpose during uncertain times.
