Belle WIP
A few steps closer to Belle!! If it hasn't been obvious Belle has been my top favorite Disney princess since I was a kid. Don't even ask my parents how many times I watched the Beauty and the Beast movies. Those VHSs were begging for mercy I think hahaha But now all I'm missing is the corset I ordered which will be here later this month!
Cosplaying as Belle has been a truly rewarding experience that has deepened my appreciation for both the character and the art of costume-making. Growing up watching Beauty and the Beast repeatedly, I always admired Belle’s intelligence, kindness, and bravery. Now, recreating her iconic dress involves attention to detail and a lot of patience. One of the most exciting parts has been sourcing unique pieces like the corset, which is essential for capturing the authentic silhouette of Belle’s ball gown. While waiting for it to arrive, I’ve been focusing on assembling and customizing other parts of the costume, such as sourcing the right fabric textures and practicing makeup looks that echo Belle’s natural beauty. For other Disney princess cosplayers, I’d recommend starting with a clear vision of your character’s key traits and signature looks. Take your time gathering materials to ensure quality and authenticity—this makes a huge difference in the final result. Also, embrace the journey; every step, from sewing to accessorizing, builds a deeper connection to the character. Finally, sharing my cosplay progress online has connected me with a welcoming community of fellow fans and creators. It’s inspiring to see how we all bring these beloved characters to life in our own unique ways.
