For me, it often means embracing kindness toward myself in moments where I might otherwise be self-critical. It’s about recognizing the important truth that the parts of me yearning for rest, creativity, or entrepreneurship are the very essence of the inner child needing love and validation. For example, when you’re making candles or running a small business, it’s easy to push through exhaustion or ignore your own needs. But a big part of healing is giving yourself permission to rest without guilt—acknowledging that rest is not laziness, but a vital act of self-respect. When you treat yourself with the same patience and care you’d offer a dear friend, it can transform how you show up in every area of your life. Practicing this kind of gentle self-compassion can also help reduce feelings of overwhelm and burnout. Instead of demanding perfection, you learn to celebrate the progress and the courage it takes to try. Healing the inner child means creating space to play, create, and dream freely, whether that’s through small personal projects or bigger business ventures. Embracing these aspects of yourself ultimately leads to a more balanced, fulfilling life where your inner child feels safe, seen, and loved.
