... Read moreConcert outfits are seriously one of my favorite things to plan! There’s just something so fun about getting ready to see your favorite artist and putting together a look that totally matches the vibe. I recently put together a super chic outfit featuring an off-white lace top, classic black bell-bottom leggings, and my favorite Jordan 1 Retro Low Og X Travis Scott Olive shoes for a pop concert. It's all about looking stylish but feeling comfy enough to dance all night, right?
But you know how it is – not all concerts are created equal when it comes to fashion! A pop concert outfit is totally different from what you'd rock at a metal show, or even a classic Bruno Mars gig. So, I wanted to share some extra tips and ideas to make sure you're perfectly dressed for any concert experience.
What to Wear to a Metal Concert (Woman's Edition)
Okay, ladies, if you’re heading to a metal concert, it’s time to unleash your inner rockstar! The key here is comfort, durability, and a touch of edgy style. I've seen so many looks, and here's what truly works:
Band Tees & Tops: An oversized band t-shirt is a classic for a reason! Pair it with ripped jeans or black skinny jeans. If you want something a bit more feminine but still edgy, a dark, fitted top (maybe even a black lace-up corset top, but skip the delicate off-white lace top for this one!) can look amazing. Remember, you might be in a mosh pit, so nothing too precious!
Bottoms: Ripped black jeans, leather-look leggings, or even dark cargo pants are perfect. They offer mobility and can withstand the energetic atmosphere.
Outerwear: A black leather jacket is non-negotiable for that cool, rebellious vibe. It's also great for layering if the venue gets chilly.
Shoes: This is crucial! Combat boots, Dr. Martens, or sturdy high-top sneakers are your best friends. They protect your feet, offer support for standing for hours, and complete the look. Seriously, ditch the open-toed shoes or delicate heels for this one!
Accessories: Think studs, chains, and chokers. Minimal jewelry is usually best to avoid anything getting snagged or lost. A small cross-body bag or fanny pack will keep your essentials safe and your hands free.
Hair & Makeup: Smudged eyeliner, dark lipstick, and undone hair totally fit the aesthetic. It’s about being effortlessly cool.
What to Wear to a Bruno Mars Concert
Now, for a Bruno Mars concert, we're talking a completely different energy! It's all about retro glam, sparkle, and being ready to groove. His shows are pure fun, and your outfit should reflect that!
Tops & Dresses: Think sequins, glitter, or silky blouses! A sparkly crop top or a sequined jacket over a simple cami would be fantastic. If you love dresses, a shimmery slip dress or a satin mini-dress would be perfect. You could even adapt the idea of my bell-bottom leggings with a more polished, wide-leg pant in a metallic fabric.
Bottoms: High-waisted wide-leg pants (like a dressier version of black bell-bottom leggings!), tailored trousers, or even a fun skirt with some sparkle. Anything that lets you move freely for all that dancing is a winner.
Outerwear: A bomber jacket with some sheen, or a light blazer in a bold color, can complete your look. You want something that screams fun and funk!
Shoes: Comfort is still key, but make it stylish! Metallic sneakers (maybe even a sparkly version of my Travis Scott Olive shoes!), block heels, or even chic flats that you can dance in for hours are excellent choices. No point in wearing shoes that'll have you sitting down halfway through the show!
Accessories: Statement earrings, a fedora, or some cool aviator sunglasses (even for night, for the vibe!) can really elevate your look. A small, chic clutch or a sparkly fanny pack for your phone and lip gloss.
Hair & Makeup: Big, voluminous hair, a sharp winged eyeliner, and a bold lip color will have you feeling like a superstar ready for the stage.
General Concert Outfit Tips for Any Show
No matter what kind of concert you're attending, a few universal rules apply:
Comfortable Shoes Are a Must: I can't stress this enough! Whether it's sturdy boots for metal or stylish sneakers like my Travis Scott Olive shoes for pop, your feet will thank you after hours of standing and dancing.
Check the Weather & Venue: Is it indoor or outdoor? Will it get cold at night? Layers are your friend! For my pop concert, I know the venue will be warm, so my off-white lace top is perfect, but I'll bring a light jacket just in case.
Small Bag Essentials: Only bring what you absolutely need: phone, ID, wallet, lip balm, and maybe a portable charger. Check the venue's bag policy beforehand!
Hydrate: Stay hydrated, especially if you're going to be dancing a lot!
I hope these tips help you put together your next show-stopping concert outfit! What are your go-to concert looks? I’d love to hear your ideas!
