Good bye Batam, see you when I see you again.
Thanks baby & SIL for planning & arranging the trip.
Batam is a fantastic destination for a quick family getaway, offering a mix of cultural experiences, delicious food, and relaxing activities. On our recent 3-day trip, we found that the key to a smooth and enjoyable stay lies in balancing exploration with ample rest. Starting with a ferry ride from Harbour Front, we appreciated how accessible Batam is from Singapore, making it ideal for a weekend retreat. Our accommodation at Hotel Houi was refreshing—clean and simple, perfect for families who want comfort without fuss. The newly opened hotel provided a cozy base for our adventures. Food lovers will delight in Batam’s culinary diversity. From late dim sum at Si Fang Yuan to indulging in pempek and lenggang at Pempek 158, the local flavors were exciting and unique. Don’t miss the fresh seafood dinner at Love Seafood, where the vibrant market atmosphere adds to the dining experience. The relaxing spa sessions at Spa Central and MH Salon & Spa were highlights that rejuvenated us between meals and sightseeing. The combination of body, foot massages, and hair wash treatments offered a perfect chance to unwind. Shopping at Nagoya Hill and Grand Batam provided opportunities to pick up local products and souvenirs. Additionally, the Little Box Premium cake shop introduced us to delightful Indonesian pastries like Cake Lapis and Bika Ambon—a sweet treat worth trying. Activities like clubbing at First Club and enjoying roadside stalls with sate and nasi lemak added a fun, local vibe to our evenings. For breakfast, IndoRasa Rumah Makan served authentic Indonesian dishes—a great way to start the day with flavor. Travel tips for families: Plan your trip with a mix of food stops, light shopping, and spa relaxation to keep everyone engaged without feeling rushed. Batam’s close proximity to Singapore means you can maximize your vacation time. Always carry local currency for small purchases at markets and roadside stalls, and be ready to embrace the warm hospitality and vibrant culture. Batam’s clean ferry terminals and straightforward transportation make it easy to navigate with family members of all ages. Overall, this trip proved to be a wonderful family bonding experience, blending relaxation, culinary adventure, and cultural exploration into a memorable getaway. Whether it’s a short weekend or a longer stay, Batam offers diverse experiences that appeal to all ages and interests.
