Bae Sik Dang in 48 Tanjong Pagar Rd
A little taste of retro Seoul right here in Singapore 🇰🇷🥢
Established in 1969 in Gangnam, BAE SIK DANG (배식당) has been serving its iconic Naengsam (ultra-thin pork belly) for generations. Now they’ve brought their heritage and authentic Korean BBQ experience to Singapore!
Featuring premium Jeju Island pork that’s flash-frozen at -60°C to lock in freshness before being precision-sliced to just 3mm. The pork belly was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of rich flavour—cooking in just seconds on the grill and tasting even better with their delicious banchan. 🤤
Our feast included:
🥓 Jeju Line 2–3 Pax Set
✨ Signature 3mm Jeju Naengsam
✨ Duroc Pork Shoulder
🍲 Kimchi Stew
🍚 Fried Rice with Flying Fish Roe, Mozzarella Cheese & Fried Eggs
🍜 Spicy Cold Noodles with Pear
🍜 Chapagetti Black Bean Noodles with Pork, Cheese & Fried Egg
🍐 Pear Slushie
Baby & SIL enjoyed it so much. If you missed authentic Korean BBQ and premium Jeju pork, this is definitely to add to your list. Love it 🥰
Visiting Bae Sik Dang truly feels like stepping into a nostalgic piece of Seoul right in the heart of Singapore. The restaurant’s dedication to preserving the retro Korean BBQ style is evident in every detail, from their precision-sliced ultrathin pork belly to the unique flash-freezing process at -60°C, which locks in the meat's natural juices and tenderness. This method ensures that when the pork belly hits the grill, it cooks rapidly, retaining a juicy texture that is hard to find elsewhere. From personal experience, choosing the Jeju Line 2–3 Pax Set is a fantastic way to sample a variety of their best offerings, including the signature 3mm Jeju Naengsam and succulent Duroc pork shoulder. The combination of these cuts, paired with classic banchan like kimchi stew, offers a well-rounded Korean BBQ feast. The layers of flavor—from the smoky grilled pork to savory kimchi stew and the slightly sweet pear slushie—create a harmonious dining experience. What sets Bae Sik Dang apart for me is their innovative side dishes such as the fried rice topped with flying fish roe, mozzarella cheese, and fried eggs. This fusion of flavors adds a delightful twist that complements the traditional BBQ perfectly. Their chapagetti black bean noodles with pork, cheese, and a fried egg is another standout dish combining comforting noodle flavors with protein-rich toppings. The ambiance enhances the meal with vintage Seoul vibes, making it an ideal spot for those craving authentic Korean flavors with a nostalgic touch. I would highly recommend visiting during peak hours or making a reservation, as their reputation for quality and authenticity draws a dedicated crowd. Whether you're a Korean BBQ enthusiast or a curious foodie, Bae Sik Dang offers a uniquely rich and memorable dining experience worth adding to your culinary list.
