What is my makeup blindness?

Ok guys, im in my 30s now and im relearning how to do my makeup again so that its more age appropriate. One of my biggest struggles is not wanting to wear heavy foundation but still wanting to cover up my adolescent acne that apparently will never go away. ... Read moreMakeup blindness refers to the unique perspective many individuals develop towards their own makeup routines, often leading to a disconnect between what they see in the mirror and proper techniques. Many people, especially those entering their 30s, may find themselves struggling to adapt their makeup to their evolving skin and lifestyle needs. The desire to avoid heavy foundation is common, particularly among those with problematic skin like acne. Lightweight alternatives such as tinted moisturizers, BB creams, or mineral foundations offer coverage without feeling cakey. Experimenting with different formulas can lead to discovering the right balance of coverage and comfort. To effectively mask blemishes while maintaining a natural look, consider using color-correcting concealers to neutralize redness before applying foundation. Additionally, implementing skincare routines that treat and minimize acne can enhance makeup application. Joining makeup forums or community discussions under hashtags like #makeupblindness can provide support and inspiration. Engaging with others who share similar struggles can also lead to shared tips and tricks, broadening your understanding of age-appropriate makeup techniques that boost confidence.
